about

Flying Caveman! An Original Album

A caveman was sitting boredly on his rump when a bird flew by overhead. The caveman was jealous of the bird and decided that he too should be able to travel freely through the air. What wonders awaited him in the far reaches of the land he did not know, but he surely wanted to find out. Inspired by his curiosity, he began to build a device. Through trial and many errors, he at last succeeded in constructing a working catapult (the world's first!), and a pair of wings, crude but functional - one just needed to flap once airborne. Looking proudly on the fruits of his labor the caveman positioned his eager rump in the sunken recess of the giant spoon, bent to almost breaking, and cut the rope. Very quickly through the air he went. And what a sight it was! A FLYING CAVEMAN! Ahead he could see an expansive desert. He crossed into its sweltering domain. Wiping his wrinkled, sweaty brow he stared in awe at the sand dunes as they passed beneath him. The caveman continued to fly. Approaching fast was an enormous wood, with towering trees as high as he. He entered into it, gliding past the woodland giants' peaks, narrowly escaping harm. The caveman continued to fly. In the distance he could hear a crashing sound. It was waves! He had reached the ocean. Never had he seen something so large, an endless blanket of blue. But even the sight of this was not enough. He wanted more. The caveman continued to fly. He turned his eyes upward and began his ascent. Up and up into the sky he went until it was no longer blue. Until it was no longer sky! An infinite sea of black dotted with tiny stars. He had come as far as he could go. He could not return, for no matter how hard he tried he could not change direction. And there was only silence. The caveman calmly reflected on his accomplishments and his sacrifices as he floated through space, eternally grateful for all he had been able to see.
